There is one further point on which further
regulation may be necessary in the Colony and that is
the possibility of interference to local radio reception
either by direct induction or otherwise from cables or
by radiation from overhead telephone lines, especially
if those lines are used for telegraphy. Interference
of this nature has been observed and it would seem
advisable that the permission of the licensing authority
to install such lines should be required as is the case
under the Electricity Supply Acts 1882 to 1926 Clause 8.

I should be glad if the advice of the
Postmaster General and his technical advisers could be
sought on these matters in order that the law in Hong
Kong relating to telegraphy and telephony may be brought
thoroughly up to date.
